Resolutions for the New Year...

Dec 29, 2012

I make resolutions.  I never keep them.  I've made the same three every year of my life since I was 12.  Lose weight, work out, save money.  Yeah, how's that been working for ya the last thirty years, dummy?

So now we round the bend of the last days of 2012 and I can honestly say I'm ready for the "reset" to commence.  I have eaten my fill of sugary cookies and candies and all sorts of bullshit that I'm surprised I haven't gone into a diabetic coma by now.  I'm ready to give it all up on January 2 (I'm a realist, nothing will change at midnight on the 1st).  I'm also ready to give up the excuses.  Herniated disk?  So what, I'm gonna start working out again even if it paralyzes me.  Lack of time?  Do I really need to watch all that TV that I just complain about anyways, I think not.  And the temptations of snacks?  Those will be hauled out with the trash as soon as this holiday is over.  It all makes me wanna barf right now anyway.

If there is one resolution I plan to keep, it's to write more and get published.  No sense sitting in front of this laptop for hours on end just to shut it off and throw it all away when I'm dead.  I want it out there.  Also, writing kills two birds with one stone...creativity flows while I follow a strict diet (no food near the computer).

Of course I say this now...let's regroup January 7th and see where we're at.  LOL

Happy new year!
