This summer I've switched gears a little bit to dive into a novel I started writing in 2014.

I love when a song wiggles its way into my ear and tells my brain "hey that's pretty cool" like it did a few weeks ago when WXRT (still Chicago's BEST radio station for new music) played a song called "This Is It."

Fabio ain't got nothing on a man who will help your aging dad to the bathroom.

What is it that drives an author to sit their ass in the chair for hours (sometimes it's only minutes when you're a busy human) and write a bunch of words that may later be deleted?

I forgot to blog in January. Just. Plain. Forgot.

This year has gone unbelievably fast. I know as you get older time seems to speed up, but this is ridiculous!

At the 11th hour--okay, it was October 29th--I decided to compete in NaNoWriMo 2017.

It's mid-September and the leaves are starting to change on the trees outside my home-office window. Despite some 80+ degree temps in Chicago, and my A/C still running, we are on the verge of Fall.

Instead of writing the random blog this month, I decided to share an excerpt from Tame My Racing Heart. I am rounding the bend in the second act and heading for the finish line (see what I did there?) so I thought I'd offer up a small taste...and I'm super lazy right now. LOL
