Dec 10, 2012
I finished NaNoWriMo a couple days before the deadline but the story continues on. I vowed to write another 50,000 words in December but so far we're 10 days into the month and I have a grand total of 51,253 and holding. So not a lot of progress the last ten days. Therefore, I am putting aside the TV remote and ditching an event this evening so I can focus. The damn book won't write itself and my head is ready to explode.
Meanwhile, I submitted to two other contests in the last several months. One being a short story contest for Writers Digest (which I did not win) and another called "You're Being Ridiculous" which is a holiday themed contest. I was selected to read my submission live and our first get-together is Saturday to talk about how it'll all work. Basically I wrote about Duff holidays and what's "special" about them. Once I have performed it at Mary's Attic in late January (readers invited!) I will then publish it here on my website.
In the meantime, I have decided to upload the other contest entry on my website. The short story is called Amazing Grace and it's been a while since I've looked at it so I'll give it a good once over and post it in a new section I'll create on the website. Until then, head down, fingers poised over the keyboard.
