Back in July, I posted my Top 5 books I’ve read so far this year. Now that I’ve surpassed my Goodreads goal for 2024, I thought I’d share another handful of books I enjoyed.
1. Middle of the Night by Riley Sager - 5 stars
A gripping thriller with Sager's signature twists, Middle of the Night keeps readers guessing until the very end. The protagonist’s journey through fear and survival is expertly paced, with suspense and unexpected revelations at every turn. A must-read for fans of psychological mysteries, this book cements Sager’s reputation as a master of modern thrillers.
2. Inside Out by Demi Moore - 5 stars
Demi Moore’s candid and raw memoir offers an intimate look at her life, career, and personal struggles. Inside Out is a heartfelt narrative of resilience, vulnerability, and self-discovery. Moore’s honesty in confronting her past and finding her strength makes this an inspiring read.
3. Hideaway by Nora Roberts - 3 stars
Hideaway combines romance, suspense, and family drama in classic Nora Roberts style. The story follows a courageous heroine as she uncovers secrets that threaten her safety and her heart. Set against lush landscapes and filled with compelling characters, this novel is both a page-turner and an emotional journey.
4. Dream Harbor Series by Laurie Gilmore - 5 stars
Laurie Gilmore’s Dream Harbor Series is a charming escape into small-town romance, where every book introduces a new love story filled with heart, humor, and a strong sense of community. Gilmore’s relatable characters and vivid settings make this series an endearing comfort read for romance fans. (The Pumpkin Spice Café, The Cinnamon Bun Book Store & The Christmas Tree Farm)
5. Powerless by Lauren Roberts - 10 stars!
A thrilling blend of romance and fantasy, Powerless features a fierce heroine grappling with her limitations in a world demanding strength. Lauren Roberts delivers a compelling narrative with richly detailed world-building, high stakes, and a slow-burn romance that will leave readers eagerly anticipating more. I started December 27th, and I’m still powering through it, but it hooked me right away and really outshines the rest of the books I read in 2024.
I’ve upped my goal to 30 books this year. With winter upon us, I hope to spend a lot of time indoors getting through my stack.
Until next time…
