Here we sit, mid-September already.

It’s time to gear up for Camp NaNoWriMo, writers.

I blame technology for my inability to stay focused.

I am a writer.

Scratch that.

I am an author.

In my last entry, I talked about preparing for NaNoWriMo and how once I’d won the 50,000 word battle, I’d be taking the month of December to recovery from cervical fusion.

It started as a story shared by a coworker.

This summer I've switched gears a little bit to dive into a novel I started writing in 2014.

I love when a song wiggles its way into my ear and tells my brain "hey that's pretty cool" like it did a few weeks ago when WXRT (still Chicago's BEST radio station for new music) played a song called "This Is It."

Fabio ain't got nothing on a man who will help your aging dad to the bathroom.

What is it that drives an author to sit their ass in the chair for hours (sometimes it's only minutes when you're a busy human) and write a bunch of words that may later be deleted?

I forgot to blog in January. Just. Plain. Forgot.

This year has gone unbelievably fast. I know as you get older time seems to speed up, but this is ridiculous!
