A few days ago, I had a personal revelation that was both liberating and transformative: I'm finally letting go of my goal to write another book, and I'm entirely okay with it.

When trying to dive into writing this second novel, I sat down and looked at it and thought, okay, if you work on a scene/half-chapter a day, ultimately, you could have a first draft ready in roughly 45 days. 

It’s hard to believe 2023 is coming to a close.

When I was a child, I used to lie in bed at night and complain about leg pain to my mom.

It’s your friendly neighborhood slacker here, wondering where the year is going.

Back in October of 2021, I started journaling again.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of my first ever participation in NaNoWriMo.

Writing has always been an escape for me and an escape for the stories in my head.

I don’t prep for the big game like most I guess.

Every year around this time, I scour through my calendar, trying to recall what went on over the last 12 months. This time last year, I didn't have much to report because with the pandemic, things had been few and far between…2021, however, has been so significant, so life-changing, I didn't need to refer to the 12-month planner. While we faced many challenges, there were also some fantastic highs.

Since the start of the pandemic and the introduction of our book club at the office, I have been, at times, face-first in my books.
